DESIGN PROCESS & TIMELINE
1//Client Intake & Research
We kick off the process with a questionnaire form, where you describe what your wedding will look like and feel like with some evocative adjectives ("beachy elegance", "Palm Springs in the Adirondacks"), and color palette suggestions, and whatever else you’d like to share! In general though, keep an open mind with the design as it may lead us to delightfully unexpected places!
2//Concept Sketch
time: 2-4 weeks
Next I produce concepts and lay out what goes where, in what size and shapes, generally speaking. Please note that I’ll be presenting rough sketches of the design, where illustrations are simplified, in abstract, in black and white, etc. If there are any major tweaks to be done, it would be at this stage.
3//Painting!
time: 4-8 weeks
Once the concepts are approved, I move onto painting, adding details that may have been implied in the sketch stage. You will have two revisions here if needed. Changes should be along the lines of color and text edits and the like, rather than a brand new rework of the design.
While I am painting, you are gathering guest addresses, and perhaps picking out postage stamps!
4//Production
time: 3-4 weeks
Production begins after final approval of the design.
5//Final Assembly & mailing
Time: 2 - 3 weeks
I can handle the addressing, stuffing of envelopes, affixing of the postage, and mail everything out for you!
In all, the entire process will take about 3 to 5 months, depending on design complexity, amount of revisions, and printing methods.
